Canon MG6250 all-in-one printer (Lower Wick WR2)

I have on offer my Canon MG6250 all-in-one inkjet printer/copier/scanner.

Sadly, it has started printing a gibberish pattern of random lines and boxes rather than whatever you send to it to print. It appears to be working fine, the Win 10 drivers I was using are up to date, all troubleshooting checks come up clear, and I've done a factory reset, but it still prints gibberish. I've attached an example of what it's doing.

It's got a pretty full set of compatible cartridges, so you might be able to harvest those if you have a printer they fit. Google is your friend here.

Before I take it to the tip I was wondering if anyone fancied trying to make it work properly again?
