Dalihas - flowering plant (Yonge & Mulock)

It's that time of year when one thinks of digging up those dalihas in the garden. I will have a bunch of tubers available if anyone is interested. I've attached a picture of what the blooms should look like next summer. The plant grows about 4 - 5 ft and the flowers are about 3-4 inches in diameter.

I'll be digging them out this weekend. Just let me know if you are interested and I'll let you know when you can pick them up ... maybe next weekend. You will probably get an assortment of tubers in various sizes.

As for over winter storage, I just store them in a paper shopping bag with shredded paper and put them in a cooler part of the basement. By the May "two four weekend", the new shoots are practically bursting out.

Here's a site that you can review if you want to know more.
