The wood is oak, but the two removable shelves seem to be MDF. It is quite old, we believe may have been handmade by the original owner's carpenter husband. It has plastic fixings for sliding glass doors, but currently has no glass doors. It perhaps needs a little restoration on top, ie waxing/varnishing, but is otherwise in good condition.
