A modern 5G EE SIM card was tested on the phone and during setup it offered 2 mobile networks:
T-Mobile
Virgin
After selecting one of the networks the EE SIM card worked and was able to make and receive calls. It then appears that it will work with any SIM card or network.

Note: The SIM slot is for a full size SIM card.
