Hob safety cover / heat resistant glass (Southport PR9)

I am getting a new kitten and I am worried about my electric job incase he jumps up there while it’s still hot. I’m going to train him not to get on the counter but just incase I could really do with something that I can cover it with while it’s still hot if anyone has anything? Thank you
