Broken lawn mower - repair project? (NN11 Ashby Fields)

This lawnmower runs on petrol but it was accidentally filled with diesel. Apparently it started with a cloud of smoke that covered several streets and now doesn't work. Offering here in case it could be fixed by someone with the time, skills and inclination.
