Downsizing, so found an old rechargeable bike light I had. I had upgrated after the battery stopped charging and could not get spare parts in the UK. This is an Aussie company that made these but they are no longer selling parts for their older models. When it worked it lit up like the photo. Essentially it's a torch, which splits in half at the base of the head, and the body is a Li-Ion battery that gives a stated run time of 2hrs on high beam. I would hate to throw it away, so if anyone is a proficient DIYer can have a go at fixing and using it. The batteries are not expensive, but it will be a DIY project.
In this forum there is a few ideas of how to open the battery casing and replace the battery with a DIY alternative.
