It's a small, wipe-clean light with the original dry-wipe pen. It takes 4 (I think) AA batteries (not included) and needs a small screwdriver to get into the battery compartment.

I found that I needed to fold a bit of paper in the battery compartment to keep the connection tight, or you could gaffa tape over the top of the compartment lid to achieve the same, but with more stickiness.

As you can see, it hasn't completely wiped clean, and that's even after I used surface spray. You might achieve better cleanliness.

Definitely suitable for kids as they can't get into the battery compartment and they could have fun with writing.
