Boiler freezes? CondenseSure tank (SG17 (Shefford))

I have a used Worcester Bosch CondenseSure tank.

If you have an older combi boiler with a narrow pipe carrying the drips of condensation outside, you may have found that in cold weather, this can freeze and stop your boiler from working.

This is a little box that is plumbed in under your boiler, it sits around the hot water pipe. It collects the condensed water as it drips, and discharges the warmed condensate in bigger quantities, so the pipe doesn't freeze. It has no moving parts and and needs no electricity - here's a YouTube clip describing it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfdNWh_oHwE - you just need to check there's space under the boiler for it,

I'm told my new boiler has this included in the boiler so it's no longer needed - but in the past it has saved me a lot of time outside in the cold, up a stepladder with a hairdryer or kettle of hot water.

Hopefully it can do the same for someone else. Note that this is to be collected from Shefford.
