Panasonic DVD player with problem (Gobowen SY11)

Several years old but now only seems to want to play films in B&W. Have replaced as O/H with vascular dementia watches a lot of films and with winter approaching he will watch more. Maybe someone wants it for spares or can fix its fault before I scrap it.
