Bathroom fan has this part open circuit along with the obligatory caps change then I noticed the resistor problem. Damp / wet condition, it was ok but corrosion ??. Ordered the replacement 4001 IC now the Farnell handling charge outlays the part cost. Doh.
its 3mm x 2mm, just triggers the fan on (SL).
