HP laptop, running Chrome OS. Works only on mains power (Golden Triangle NR2)

This laptop has had a hard life and the battery is completely dead now, but it works fine off the mains. It's running ChromeOS, so basically it's a Chromebook. All you'll need is a Google account to login.
