CD player (St Bees CA28)

Has anyone inherited a cd player they won't use? My old Techniks separates set up must be over 30yrs old. I've had so much pleasure from it. But the repairer has rang to say the cd player is beyond repair. I'm so sad. I thought I'd ask,I cannot imagine how much a decent player would be nowadays. Many thanks. Margaret
