Clock mechanism (West Drayton UB7)

This clock mechanism has been removed from a reproduction grandfather clock that was purchased 20 years ago.
It still works and is currently ticking away, I'm sure it chimes too when put back together.
I have taken it to a clock repairer offering it for spares and apparently old clock mechanisms have no value or need in modern society.
I tried leaving it with him but he said he would put it in the skip!
If anyone would like it to understand how clocks work or dismantle (clock maker said DON'T unscrew the main spring) you are very welcome to it.
