Purchased a few years ago and only used a couple of times. The water bottle uses suction to force water through the filter. The bottle has been washed throughly and original filter has been disposed, however a two pack of sealed replacement filters are included. (Please bear in mind they are also a few years old.) Material is rigid teal plastic. Important Note: these filters help create better tasting water, they do not make unsafe water safe for drinking!
