Bass guitar (Cambridge CB1)

Long shot, but looking for a bass guitar for my son. Doesn't matter the condition as I will make it playable. He wants to play the bass and I am not sure how long this faze will last so don't really want to buy one until he proves it is going to be something he will stick at.
