Siemens Gigaset Eco Dect Cordless phone - not working (Eastlands CV21)

Siemens Gigaset E630 eco Dect cordless phone with one handset. Currently not working and it needs a reset but it has got a flashing button on the display so I think it needs replacement rechargeable batteries (see instructions which are also included).
