These are recordings of the original weekly half-hour beginners French lessons on Radio 4. (The BBC used to do a lot of foreign language courses back in the day). They are in cassette form. I can thoroughly recommend this course as I learned a sizeable amount of French with it. The course book is in loose-leaf form as I used to carry just the pages I needed for a long daily commute.
They do require a cassette player and one Is available if required (see picture).
