Old Film & Glass Plate Negatives (Nashville, Tennessee)

Looking for old film negatives or glass plate negatives or old slides or old rolls of film gathering dust in boxes, crates in the attic, found when you cleaned out your grandmother’s house, your great-grandfathers box of glass plates, etc ...

It is fascinating to me to scan these aging artifacts of 100 years ago and see a slice of life that is long gone.

I have included some pictures of what these old items look like as well as some general sizes the negatives can be.

Old film negatives can be color or black & white and a variety of sizes such as:
• 35mm
• 2.25” x 1.75”  2.25” x 3.5”
• 2.5” x 4.25”
• 2.36” x 3.74” (6 x 9.5 cm)
• 4” x 5”

Glass Negatives look like a glass windowpane with the photo negative showing on the glass. Glass negatives come in a variety of sizes such as:
• Quarter glass plate – 3.25” x 4.25”
• Half glass plate – 4.75” x 6.5”
• Whole glass plate – 6.5” x 8.5”
• 5” x 7”
• 8” x 10”
