Story time:
I badly wanted a crab trap for a landscaping project. Would always see crumpled up & partially buried ones along an uncombed beach. One day I finally see one that doesn’t look demolished. As I reach it & get it dug out, I realized just how big it was! I already went through the trouble of digging it out, I was determined to get it home! I’m only 5’1, and carrying it wasn’t working. I drug it for miles along the beach, then trail back to my car. My car is small, but has a huge trunk...however the opening is quite small. I’m used to moving the front passenger seat all the way back & opening the door all the way to take very large boxes to FedEx (doors for back seat don’t open wide.). That isn’t going to work in this case. I stand there thinking for awhile, not wanting to give up after the chore of digging it out of the sand, the chore of dragging it miles, and blood running down my leg & onto my shoe (the trap took a huge chunk out of my leg as I drug it and it bounced along.) I recall having some twine in the trunk from bringing home a dresser that prevented the trunk from closing. I manage to get one corner edge of the cage teetered on the trunk opening, and have enough twine to tie the lid & trap in place. I map out a way home without getting on any main roads so that I can drive slowly without causing a situation. It has sat in my driveway ever since because once I got it home, it became much more obvious just how *too big* it is. My loss, your gain. The rebar frame is coming loose.
