On the left, it's a small pile of old hardboard. Some of it's been painted on one side as a sort of primer and the rest of it hasn't been primed. These are little scraps. Really for just practising or planning out a larger painting, perhaps. On the right is basically mounting board, possibly the inside cutouts of mounting frames. I got a load of these given to me and they are really useful again for planning out paintings because it's quite dense cardboard so it takes a lot of water without spoiling. You can use it as your final painting or as a plan for a larger painting. Hopefully somebody can make the use of these, otherwise I'll have to put them in recycling
