Beloved Gluten-Free Sourdough Starter – Seeking Loving Home
During COVID, like many of us, I briefly imagined I might become an artisanal bread wizard. Since my son-in-law is celiac, I decided to go the gluten-free route and started a sourdough starter. Five years later, it’s still alive. Thriving, even.
If you’ve ever dabbled in sourdough, you’ll know it’s a bit like adopting a tamagotchi (yes, I’m that age) — it requires regular feedings, attention, and occasional emotional support. But unlike a tamagotchi, this one might feed you back with GF pancakes, waffles, etc. (There are A TON of recipes online.)
It’s time for me to pass it on to someone who will love and nurture it as I have. I’ll happily walk you through the care and feeding process, including the name of the flour (available at Grocery Outlet) I’ve been using to keep it happy all these years.
BUT. Please don’t take this lightly. I need to know you understand what you’re getting into. This isn’t just starter — it’s a five-year-old, bubbling, gluten-free legacy. If you ghost it, I’ll know. And I’ll cry. Quietly. But still.
Reply if you’re ready for a carb-based commitment.
Warmly,
Sourdough Mama
