Kniphofia plant (SW2)

I have a kniphofia plant (aka red hot poker), which I've had for several years and have never been able to get it to flower. It's smaller than the ones you usually see and the flowers are more yellow (apparently). It's currently in a pot after a couple of years in the ground.
