This toy koala is made from opossum fur. Opossums are invasive species in Australia and not to be confused with the native possums. To give people an incentive to hunt the opossums, they are made into items for sale, which helps to fund this conservation work protecting native species. My aunt sent this as a present for my kids when they were little. Two of its feet are missing.
