Record/CD/cassette player (Waterford)

It's basically brand new, but I can't get the record to sound right. It either sounds like the chipmunks or slow motion. I got my step father's when he passed, so I no longer have any interest in trying to fix this. Hoping someone with some knowledge can fix it and use it! Waterford pickup. Thanks!
