This is the kind the council used to sell. You bury the bottom basket in soil, sun shining against the upper part creates a warm air current, the basket keeps out vermin, you put in any kitchen waste - meat, cooked veg, fat, the lot, and it composts down for worms to carry into the soil nearby.
Ours has been in service for 10 years or so, but since the 3-2-1 bin scheme, we've not really used it. Our sunny spot isn't really sunny enough and I've decided to reclaim it for something more pretty.
Still, there's nothing wrong with it and it'll work well for the right person with the right garden.
The screws holding the two parts together are rusted closed, but I don't think that matters practically, apart from transporting it.
Free to collector.
