Two items.
If you have a TV with a non-working tuner the Freeview box will solve your problem.
If you have an old desktop PC which can be connected to a TV aerial then you can view and record anything on TV on your PC. Haven't used this kit, but from what I understand it doesn't suffer the problems often found with modern recorders and it will allow you to edit recordings to get rid of adverts in films, etc.
Will go to the tip if not claimed before our house move.
