Rocking horse in need of restoration (Appleford OX14)

Rocking horse given to me new in 1950. It needs restoration. I have hoped to restore it but not got around to it. It's around 4ft high and 3 ft long! Its legs and head are carved wood, but I'm not sure what the body is made from.
