We were gifted this hot tub via Freecycle a few years ago and it’s been fantastic for us. The hot tub had an intermittent fault where the heater would cut out and the hot tub need to be turned off and on to reset. We fixed this problem with a simple timer plug and it’s worked great ever since. However, the hot tub was struggling to get up to temperature during the cold winter months so we switched it off and have not used it since, hence we’ve decided to pass it on, as it takes up a third of our patio. Really the hot tub needs some TLC in the form of a service and possibly some money spent on it. However, it should work fine using the timer plug to turn it off on every few hours to reset the hot tub. But this hasn’t been tested for six months.

In order to collect this hot tub you will need a van all or lorry large enough , we used a Luton van with a tail lift and at least three people to lift it. The hot tub weighs around 250 kg which is lighter than most hot tubs but still it’s a considerable weight. You will also need some sort of dolly with wheels to wheel the hot tub round the side of our house. I will be unable to help as I recently had surgery on a broken arm.

I will throw in all the chemicals needed, including a large bucket of chlorine granules plus a net and various other accessories to get you going. The filters were replaced a few years ago but could probably do with replacing again. These cost around £100.

This is a high-end well-made hot tub that costs around £15,000 new currently. I’ll be sorry to see it go but it takes up a lot more space in our new garden and we’re just not using it so it has to go.
