PLEASE NOTE: THIS JACK IS IN A NON-WORKING STATE, for someone who wants to either repair it or use it for parts.
This 2-tonne trolley jack is a "Master Mechanic TJ4000" and is approx 35 years old.
I was using the jack today when it failed and oil started seeping from the main plunger piston.
I dismantled the plunger and one of the plastic parts at the bottom of the plunger (possibly a seal) had crumbled, which was not surprising given its age and the fact that I haven't used it for several years. Therefore, the seals had deteriorated with age.
I found a seal kit for this jack on eBay for £16.08 ... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116465370816?_skw=master+mechanic+tj4000&itmmeta...
I decided not to repair it myself, as I no longer need the jack.
If anyone out there would like to take it for spares or repair, you'd be welcome to it.
