Vax carpet cleaner (Cashes Green GL5)
This does work although dosen't seem to suck up the water as well as it should. It could be something very simple? Only used a few times but don't have the receipt anymore - and is probably out of warranty anyway. Collect from Cashes Green, GL5 4RE
