Sewing box ( I think) (Wickford SS12)

We have this wooden box with an old padded top which I think would have been a sewing box. There looks to be screw holes on the underneath which must have taken legs at some point. I kept the box with the view of refurbishing it but have been bought a new one by family so this is surplus to requirement now. Could anyone make use of it ?
