Free seeds for common milkweed. Create a monarch butterfly habitat! Monarchs need milkweed to complete their reproductive cycle, since it’s the only plant family where they lay their eggs. Bees also love these beautiful, fragrant flowers.
Spread the seeds in the fall so they can overwinter and grow in the spring. They prefer full sun, but if you let the wind spread the seeds, they will grow where is best suited for them.
Please note that milkweed is toxic to humans and pets, so don’t plant it where curious kids or animals might taste it.
