Originally intended as a intruder detector, but never used. Mains powered and once you align the two units a buzzer sounds when the beam is broken (probably by a cat ;) ) It's designed to allow you to open the box and add longer wires to produce a longer beam.
Could be used as a bit of fun with the kids, or as young kids school science demonstrator?
