These are listed as spares or repair - see below:
This is a Citronic CD-1X dual CD player, circa 2008, plus two identical head units. Unfortunately despite best efforts, I have been unable to get it working. Hence this is either a project for someone, or a donor unit if you have another one that needs parts.
Functional bits:
- powers up
- CD drawers open and close fine, no issues with pulleys or drive belts
- CDs spin up ok
- Both head units seem fine - display lights up when connected, so some kind of connection is being made
However the above is all it does. The head unit, although it lights up, will not display any information and the CD players do not respond or produce audio when buttons are pressed.
Things I've tried:
- swap the control unit (same problem occured, suggesting the problem is with the player unit)
- check all visible connectors and cables
- check main board for any obvious dry joints or damaged components (may have missed something)
- replaced laser in the left hand CD player
My guess is that the problem is either on the main board (central chip failed?) or the power supply (producing sufficient voltage for the mechanical aspects to work, but not the right level for the 'brains' to function?). However this is just guesswork.
Cosmetic - everything neat and tidy for its age, just a few scuffs and scrapes that you'd expect of a nearly 20-year-old system. Can throw in the original box if desired. Screws for casing are missing.
Mains lead included.
Over to you!
