WW2 era? Thrift box (Dunkeswell nr Honiton)

I imagine this is from the times of rationing, but could be used for a money box, storage/decoration or teaching children about history and how to be good with money.

Having a massive clear out so will be listing a lot this weekend, all needs going Asap to someone who needs things we no longer do.
