Scientific Calculator (Chineham RG24)

Brand new, but not working as our son did something with the batteries /battery compartment and it stopped working. We couldn’t work out how to get the batteries in as required but have attached photos of what they should look like in the correct position (maybe a contact is now missing???). Anyway, if anyone can fix it and make use of it, then we’d be very happy!
