❤️ My Urgent Appeal: Aid for Family & Friends in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica
Hi everyone,
Following the devastating Category 5 Hurricane Melissa that struck Jamaica last Wednesday, the situation for my family and friends is dire.
They live in the remote, rural areas of St. Elizabeth (Bloomsbury and Newport), and I am reaching out because they desperately need our help.
This is critical: Due to their isolated location, Bloomsbury and Newport have not yet received any official aid. We've heard that some people, out of desperation, have risked trying to cross dangerous, flooded rivers to get supplies, but it's simply too dangerous for many.
I've secured a large barrel and am committed to filling it with essentials to send over.
I am personally asking you to contribute anything you can to this effort.
We urgently need donations of the following items:
* Non-perishable foods (canned goods, dried food, etc.)
* Shelter/Repair items (tarpaulin, rope)
* Basic necessities (clean clothes)
* Bed Sheets: We can only accept NEW sheets, still in their original packaging, to cover mattresses. This is absolutely necessary to save crucial space inside the limited barrel.
* Power/Light (torches, batteries, wind-up radios, small inverters) etc.
Every single donation will go directly to helping my loved ones and their neighbors who have lost so much.
Please let me know if you are able to help with an item or assist with drop-off/collection.
Many thanks in advance for your kindness and support,
Latoyah
