Trek bicycle small (16 in frame) (Newington Forest)

Brakes work and it rides, but the gear shift currently doesn’t (could be because i did something wrong with the derailleur when putting it back together, im not sure). The seat is cracked.

16” frame. Im 5’1” and it’s a little too big for me. Im guessing 5’3”ish would be about right?
