BBQ-Grill Charcoal for smoky effect (Stanley Park Kitchener)

I’m experimenting with adding a smoky flavor to curry for the first time! I don’t want to buy an entire bag of charcoal for just one dish—does anyone have a few pieces they could share? It would really help me out!
