A must-have book of its time, this well known household management book was often given to new brides as a wedding present. This one is well thumbed but is full of interesting recipes and advice for the time on things like on how to run a house, deal with children’s behaviour and treat various illnesses. It is described as “unrivalled as the modern housewife’s Guide, Philosopher and Friend”. This particular book was a Christmas present in 1950. It is in a reasonable condition.
