aquarium plant (Waltham Abbey EN8)

The plants have started to take over my tank, so I want to thin them out. I think I could remove 5 or 6 stems, they are HYGROPHILA Corymbosa, they grow quite fast I have them in my tropical tank, which is about 17 inches high so I estimate the plant to be about 12 inches high I have planted cuttings and they have grown ok so they could be cut in half but really best left whole with the roots the plant to the left of the boat is what I want to remove I do have snails in my tank so the plants would have to be washed
