Got this free on here just over a year ago and used it once. This may be inaccurate but I think it has soft start but after starting has only 'top speed'. I don't think it has variable speed.

It comes with the original batteries which did charge but didn't hold charge. I unsoldered these and fitted spade connectors to make it easy to change batteries (it takes 2 x 12V 7Ah).
Charger included, red light when charging, green when charged.

There is a fair bit of information on these online including fitting larger batteries for extra distance.

The seat post is removable.
