Maple or other flying seeds (SR, Bret Harte, near Jackson's)

I am teaching a class about seeds this Weds and would love to find some samaras, or whirlybird seeds, to show the kids. Does anyone know where I might find a tree (in San Rafael area) that has such seeds right now? The trees that have such seeds are: maple, ash, elm or sycamore. Thanks!
