Android phone for low income senior (Alameda near Park Street)

Hi I'm trying to help out a 78-year-old friend who lives in a trailer in San Leandro. He has very little money only social security. Does anyone have an android phone they could give him? He had his Service cut off by AT&T. I got him mobile service through Gen Mobile but the phones cost at least $70. (I have given him enough money and I don't want to give him anymore. So I'm not going to pay for the phone.) He is accustomed to Android phones so that would be best. Anything that has a fairly updated Android operating systemplease. Thank you!
