reading light (Ringmer BN8)

This is a Serious Readers lamp. It doesn't work any more because the transformer (in the plug) is broken. Serious Readers say they can't repair it but offered me a new light half price, which is a considerable saving, given the price they are. Anyway, someone who can mess around with transformers might get themselves a really nice light for little cost.
