Adult bike, not too small, 28" tires, at least 3 gears, for homeless person (Filwood Ward BS4)

Hi my bike got stolen. while it wasn't a fancy one, without it homeless life suddenly got really exhausting ? Would appreciate to find a replacement fast for cheap/free. Can do simple repairs but as it's the end of the year and help, cheap parts and a comfy space to work on it are harder to come by, nothing elaborate.
