It's supposed to have a little tongue that detects a sheet of paper and starts the mechanism, but this is broken (it might be fixable, I don't know). It's still perfectly usable, it just runs constantly when the switch is on.
It's small -- the slot is about 12cm long, so an A4 sheet would need to be folded. Rough dimensions -- 20x14x23cm.
I haven't used it for ages -- we have a wood burner now, all paper goes in there :)
