Garden Shears (CT3)

I gave my old ones away years ago to an elderly lady with overgrown grass, as she was, would you believe, cutting her lawn with scissors.
After I moved I did not think I would need them again, but now it would be handy to have some as a neighbour's garden is totally covered in brambles, he cannot even open his back door properly.
If I can get some shears that will, I think, be the easiest way to cut though the roots at the base , then we can get out to get the rest clear, as he has no back gate even, many thanks to anyone who can help.
