Canon powershots30 (DN10- mattersey)

Hello. I was gifted this recently on here. I was told that the camera works but the battery ( recently bought) doesnt charge. The battery did look like it charged but I’ve been unable to get the camera working. hopefully someone more tech savvy can sort out the problem. I was hoping we could use an existing canon charger but they aren’t compatible.
If anyone in Doncaster area wants it dropping off then that may be possible when I’m nearby
